Blackbuck EV maintains its position as a market leader in electric buses by sticking to its primary strategy of providing long-range, premium vehicles. The company’s first ELON 3X, a 13.5-meter passenger bus, is now going through extensive internal road testing.
These tests are intended to push the vehicle to its limits, ensuring it meets the highest levels of performance and durability. The preliminary results have been quite positive, and the company is dedicated to continuing these studies to achieve complete validation.
New Sleeper Model
Building on the success of the ELON 3X seater version, Blackbuck EV is developing a sleeper model in response to high demand for enhanced long-distance travel comfort. The new sleeper coach features increased headroom, 36 beds measuring 1.8 meters each, and approximately 8 cubic meters of luggage space.
It offers two range options per charge—300 km and 400 km—to suit different route needs. The bus boasts a luxurious interior with high-end materials and advanced amenities.
Commitment to Multi-Axle Design
As the first in India to introduce a 13.5-meter multi-axle electric coach, Blackbuck EV emphasizes the benefits of a three-axle configuration for long journeys. This setup enhances stability and ride comfort by evenly distributing weight, making it ideal for uneven roads and sharp turns.
Strong Pre-Order Response
Blackbuck EV has begun accepting pre-orders, receiving a strong response from private transport operators. To date, the company has secured MOUs for 350 buses, including seater and sleeper models, and is in advanced discussions for more.
The goal is to accept pre-orders for 1,000 buses, with production and delivery planned within four years. Pre-orders will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis.
Production and Service Innovations
The company expects its first micro factory to be operational by Q3 2025, with full-scale production starting by the end of 2025.
Blackbuck EV's EBAAS (Electric Bus as a Service) model offers comprehensive support, including AMCs, warranties, and training. The digital fleet management tool included in EBAAS provides real-time tracking, nearest charging station locations, and driver management systems to optimize operations.
