Biliti Electric, a California-based electric three-wheeler start-up, recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new manufacturing plant in Velimela, Hyderabad.

The plant will be stretched across 13 acres and will produce electric three-wheelers and lithium-ion battery packs to meet the growing need for sustainable last-mile mobility solutions.

The company plans to invest Rs 400 crore in the new production unit and intends to develop electric three-wheeler and battery packs for the Indian market.

Jennifer Larson, the United States Consul General in Hyderabad, lay the plant's foundation stone. Gopalakrishnan VC, Director of Automotive and Electric Vehicles, Government of Telangana, India, also attended the occasion.

Facility Location

The new production plant is situated in Velimela, Hyderabad, a strategic location for electric vehicle manufacturing in India. Hyderabad has emerged as a hub for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing in India due to its conducive ecosystem, skilled workforce, and supportive policies. 

Production Capacity

Biliti Electric’s plant is expected to have a production capacity of 2,000 electric three-wheelers per month.

Job Opportunities

The project is expected to create over 10,000 job opportunities, contributing to local employment and economic growth.

Sustainable Mobility

By locally manufacturing electric three-wheelers and battery packs, Biliti Electric aims to promote sustainable last-mile mobility solutions in the region.
