Battery Smart, a leading battery swapping network for electric two- and three-wheelers situated in Delhi NCR, has announced that it has reached the 10 million battery swap milestone on its network.
The firm claims it is the highest in the country, and it was accomplished in just three years of operation. The critical milestone, according to Battery Smart, underlines the rising acceptability of battery swapping as an innovative clean transportation option, particularly for India's expanding number of electric rickshaws and two-wheelers.
"The asset-light strategy has allowed us to swiftly expand our operations while simultaneously helping local company owners improve their livelihoods. We manage the country's densest switching network and plan to have a presence in 25 cities by June 2023, with a continued emphasis on tier 2 and tier 3 locations," stated Siddharth Sikka, Co-Founder of Battery Smart.
It claims to have been a key player in the Indian electric two- and three-wheeler markets, offering two-minute swaps that allow drivers to save time, travel longer distances, and save up to 40% on initial expenditures.
The company has been the leading competitor of the battery-swapping movement, and its network has lately expanded to 17 cities, including Hyderabad, Govardhan, Vrindavan, and Mathura. The company currently operates 500+ Swap Stations and has 50,000 batteries in circulation.
Battery Smart, which is dedicated to assisting India in meeting its aim of net-zero emissions by 2023, now has 18,500 electric two- and three-wheelers on its network.
"As the number of batteries in circulation grows, it's critical for battery manufacturers to strictly adhere to the latest AIS norms mandated by the government," said Pulkit Khurana, Co-Founder of Battery Smart.
According to senior officials, establishing customer trust is vital to the success of EV adoption, and guaranteeing safety is a critical component of that process.
As the company expands, it is getting more and more important in educating partners, drivers, and consumers on EV safety measures, battery management and handling, and ensure that the most recent safety standards are followed.
