Bajaj Auto will expand its Riki e-rickshaw to 200 cities by early 2026, offering a safer, eco-friendly last-mile mobility option with 140 km range and fast charging.

Pilot Phase Expanded to Eight Cities

Bajaj Auto launched Riki earlier this year and began its pilot testing with four cities. This pilot has now expanded to eight cities, including:

Executive Director Rakesh Sharma said the company is currently in phase one, focusing on understanding customer feedback, communication strategies, and promotional needs.

He added, “We are right now in phase one, where for another month or so we will be observing customer feedback and deciding our communication and promotion strategy.”

200-City Expansion Planned for January–March 2026

After the pilot study, Bajaj Auto will begin a massive scale-up. During the January–February–March period, the company aims to expand from the current eight cities to 200 cities and towns across India.

Sharma explained that once traction in these regions becomes clear, the company will then evaluate sales volumes and future targets.

For the next three to four months, Bajaj Auto is focused on seeding the product in various regions before increasing its presence in a phased manner.
