Bajaj Auto’s July 2025 sales increased 3% to 366,000 units, driven by strong export growth that offset falling domestic sales, especially in two-wheelers.

Key Highlights:

Bajaj Auto Limited reported total vehicle sales of 366,000 units in July 2025, marking a 3% year-on-year growth compared to 354,169 units sold in July 2024. This increase came despite a significant dip in domestic sales, as strong export performance lifted the overall numbers.

Domestic Sales Decline Amid Market Challenges

In July 2025, Bajaj’s domestic vehicle sales dropped by 13%, falling from 210,997 units last year to 183,143 units. The two-wheeler segment faced the steepest drop, with sales down 18% to 139,279 units, compared to 168,847 units in July 2024. However, commercial vehicles in the domestic market saw a modest 4% growth, reaching 43,864 units, up from 42,150 units last year.

Exports Lead the Growth Story

Export performance stood out as the clear growth driver. Bajaj Auto's exports surged 28%, touching 182,857 units in July 2025 compared to 143,172 units in the same month last year.

Two-wheeler exports rose by 22%, reaching 156,968 units. Commercial vehicle exports jumped by a massive 79%, from 14,478 units to 25,889 units, showcasing strong global demand.

April - July 2025: A Similar Pattern

For the first four months of FY26 (April to July), Bajaj Auto posted total sales of 1,477,237 units, showing a 1% year-on-year increase from 1,456,225 units. Domestic sales for this period fell 9% to 817,951 units. Meanwhile, exports grew 19% to 659,286 units, underlining the company’s growing reliance on international markets.

Two-Wheelers Show Mixed Results

Bajaj’s core business, two-wheelers, showed divergent trends between India and overseas markets. Domestic two-wheeler sales dropped 11% to 668,623 units during April–July 2025. In contrast, exports rose 16% to 576,415 units, reinforcing Bajaj’s strength in global markets.

Commercial Vehicles Keep Momentum

Commercial vehicles have emerged as a consistent performer, especially in exports. For April-July, CV exports grew 44%, continuing the trend seen in the monthly performance.

A Strategic Shift Toward Global Markets

Bajaj Auto, founded in 1945, remains one of India’s most prominent two- and three-wheeler manufacturers. Over the past few years, the company has strategically expanded into over 70 international markets.

CMV360 Says

Bajaj Auto’s July sales reflect a slowdown in the domestic market, but strong growth in exports is supporting overall performance. The company’s emphasis on expanding its presence in international markets, particularly in commercial vehicles, appears to be an effective strategy amid domestic challenges.
