India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, has announced a major expansion of its service and dealer network across Western India. The company plans to add 30 new service touchpoints in the region over the next year, strengthening its presence especially in Maharashtra and nearby states.
Currently, Ashok Leyland operates 29 dealer partners, 130 service workshops, and more than 350 trained technicians across Western India. The company’s service network covers customers at an interval of one touchpoint every 35 kilometres.
With the addition of 30 new touchpoints to its existing 150 locations, the company aims to reduce the service gap to one touchpoint every 25 kilometres. This move is expected to improve service accessibility and reduce downtime for vehicle owners.
The expansion is mainly focused on strengthening the company’s Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) business. Maharashtra has been identified as a high-priority market due to its strong economic activity, infrastructure growth, and rising transportation demand.
Viplav Shah, Head of LCV Business at Ashok Leyland, called the expansion a strategic step. He said that enhancing the LCV network in Maharashtra and the entire Western region will be a game changer for the company.
Demand for light commercial vehicles in India is rising, driven by infrastructure projects and the rapid growth of last-mile logistics. Ashok Leyland’s LCV portfolio is known for strong payload capacity, fuel efficiency, and practical load area dimensions.
The company stated that expanding its service network will ensure strong after-sales support as vehicle sales increase, helping customers operate more efficiently and reliably across Western India.
With this strategic network expansion, Ashok Leyland aims to strengthen its foothold in Western India’s fast-growing light commercial vehicle market. By improving service reach from every 35 km to 25 km, the company is focusing on faster support, reduced downtime, and better customer satisfaction. This move highlights its long-term commitment to Maharashtra and nearby states as demand for logistics and infrastructure transport continues to rise steadily.
