Apollo Tyres has introduced a new truck-bus bias tyre range aimed at improving performance and lowering the total cost of operations for fleet owners and commercial vehicle operators. The launch was officially announced on January 29, 2026.
The new range includes three tyre patterns in the 10.00-20 size, which is widely used in truck and bus applications across India. These tyres have been developed through close collaboration between Apollo Tyres global research and development teams and its manufacturing plants, ensuring better durability, mileage, and reliability.
Apollo Tyres has introduced three distinct tyre patterns, each designed for specific commercial vehicle needs:
XT 1x Drive Pattern: The XT 1x drive tyre features a lug-type tread design that offers strong cut and chip resistance. It comes with optimised tread mass distribution and a durable carcass structure, making it suitable for demanding road conditions.
XT 2x Drive Pattern: The XT 2x drive pattern is designed for higher mileage and heavy-duty use. It includes an extra-deep tread with a high-mileage compound, optimised shoulder lugs, and a reinforced casing that improves load-carrying capacity.
XR 1x Steer Pattern: The XR 1x steer tyre focuses on stability and uniform wear. It offers high tread depth, a modular matrix tread design, deeper shoulder windows for better heat dissipation, and tie-bar-protected ribs for improved performance.
According to Apollo Tyres, the new tyres have undergone extensive testing and include advanced technology to improve mileage, durability, and reliability. The design is aimed at maximizing vehicle uptime and improving operational efficiency for transporters and fleet owners.
Rajesh Dahiya, Vice President – Commercial Operations (India, SAARC, and Southeast Asia) at Apollo Tyres, said the new range reflects the company’s focus on delivering better performance and value. He added that the application-specific designs and advanced construction are expected to help customers reduce operating costs while meeting the needs of newer commercial vehicle segments.
The XT series drive tyres are engineered to deliver strong traction and durability across varied operating conditions. Meanwhile, the XR steer tyre is optimized for better handling, stability, and even tread wear.
Apollo Tyres is a leading tyre manufacturer in India with a strong global presence. The company operates several manufacturing facilities in India, along with international plants in the Netherlands and Hungary. Its products are sold under the Apollo and Vredestein brands and are available in over 100 countries worldwide.
