On Sunday, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan and Jamyang Tsering Namgyal flagged off the e-buses in the presence of senior personnel such as the commissioner secretary and Kargil deputy commissioner.
They then took a test journey on an e-bus from TFC to Council Secretariat, Zamisthiang, Baroo, and back.
Khan stated that the buses are environmentally friendly and will improve public transportation in the area. He claims that because charging stations are located across the city, this system can meet public demand.
Namgyal stated that the buses will help Ladakh become a carbon-neutral UT and will help Kargil and Leh become smart cities.
Ajeet Kumar Sahu, commissioner secretary said that the transportation department has taken many measures to strengthen the public transportation system in the city.
