VST Tillers & Tractors is all set to enter the electric farming equipment market. The company has confirmed the launch of two fully electric machines, a power tiller and a power weeder, in the financial year 2025-26.
According to Antony Cherukara, CEO of VST Tillers & Tractors, “This year, we’ll be launching an electric power tiller and a fully electric power weeder.” Both machines will be fully designed and developed in-house at the company’s manufacturing facilities.
This move is supported by VST’s experience gained through a three-year partnership with Monarch Tractor, a US-based company. During this collaboration, VST supplied drivetrain parts for Monarch’s autonomous electric tractors. This exposure to international technology is now helping VST develop its own electric machines.
Explaining the practical use of these electric machines, Cherukara said, “The idea is that a farmer can work from 8 am to noon, recharge the equipment during lunch, and resume work post-lunch.” This routine is being seen as a cost-effective and farmer-friendly solution.
To stand out in the early-stage electric farming segment, VST will offer fast-charging options. The upcoming electric tiller and weeder will be able to charge up to 70–80% in just 30–40 minutes.
Cherukara added that swappable batteries will also be available as an option. However, the main focus is currently on fast charging. “Swappable batteries might become more viable once the industry matures, but our current focus is on delivering reliable fast-charging solutions,” he said.
While the primary focus will be on Indian farmers, VST also plans to export these electric machines to Europe and other international markets.
VST Tillers & Tractors has already seen strong growth in its current product line. The company sold 37,297 power tillers in FY25, up from 36,480 in FY24. Weeder sales rose sharply to 7,458 units in FY25 from 4,567 units in FY24.
With these new electric models, VST is aligning itself with the future of farming — clean, efficient, and sustainable. The company aims to support farmers with practical solutions while also contributing to the shift towards environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

With the launch of electric tillers and weeders, VST Tillers & Tractors is embracing sustainable farming solutions.
