The new year 2026 has brought big relief for farmers. The government has announced a tractor subsidy scheme under which eligible farmers can get financial help of up to ₹3 lakh to buy a new tractor. This scheme is specially designed to support Scheduled Caste (SC) farmers in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and encourage the use of modern farming equipment.
Farmers can apply online only, and the last date to apply is January 15, 2025. Tractors up to 45 HP or more are covered under this scheme.
The tractor subsidy scheme is being implemented separately by the governments of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Only SC category farmers who meet the eligibility conditions will be selected. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
Subsidy Amount: ₹3 lakh or 50% of the tractor cost (whichever is less)

Farmers must meet the following conditions to get the benefit of the scheme:
The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category
The farmer must own agricultural land
In Haryana, land can also be in the name of a family member under Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP)
Registration on the “Meri Fasal-Mera Byora” portal is compulsory in Haryana
The farmer must not have taken any tractor subsidy in the last 5 years
In Uttar Pradesh, a Lekhpal-verified report in the prescribed format must be uploaded
Online Application: Visit the official state agriculture portal and fill out the application form
Upload Documents: Aadhaar card, caste certificate, land records, bank details, and other required documents
Selection Process:
Haryana: Selection through lottery if applications are more than the target
Uttar Pradesh: Selection after verification by the district committee
Verification: Documents will be checked by the agriculture department
Permit Issue: Approval will be given online after verification
Tractor Purchase: Tractor must be purchased within 15 days of permit approval
Grant Payment: Subsidy amount will be transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account through DBT after physical verification
After receiving the subsidy, farmers cannot sell the tractor for five years. The agriculture department will conduct regular physical checks. The main aim of this scheme is to make farmers self-reliant, improve productivity, and create rural employment.
Haryana Deputy Commissioner Dr. Virender Kumar Dahiya stated that the administration will ensure the subsidy reaches only genuine and eligible farmers with full transparency. Assistant Agriculture Engineer Dinesh Sharma said the scheme will help SC farmers become eligible for other government schemes where owning a tractor is required.

Important Note: While applying, use the mobile number linked with Aadhaar, as verification will be done through OTP. Farmers are advised to apply early and upload the correct documents to avoid rejection.
