India tractor retail sales reached 89,418 units in February 2026. Mahindra led the market, while Escorts Kubota, International Tractors, and TAFE recorded strong year-on-year growth in tractor sales.

India’s tractor retail market continued to show stable momentum in February 2026, reflecting consistent demand from the rural economy and growing mechanisation in agriculture. According to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) Research, total tractor retail sales reached 89,418 units in February 2026, compared to 65,579 units in February 2025.

This indicates strong year-on-year growth for the tractor industry. Increased agricultural activity, steady crop output, and improved farmer investment in farm equipment helped support retail demand across major agricultural states.

The latest retail market share data highlights continued dominance by the Mahindra Group, while other leading manufacturers such as Escorts Kubota Limited, TAFE Limited, International Tractors Limited, and John Deere India Pvt Ltd maintained stable positions in the market.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Performance – February 2026

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Tractor Division)

The tractor division of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited retained the top spot with 21,471 units sold and a 24.01% market share. Compared to 15,519 units last year, Mahindra recorded strong growth, supported by its wide tractor portfolio, strong rural network, and deep presence across India’s key agricultural regions.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Swaraj Division)

Mahindra’s Swaraj division sold 16,897 units in February 2026, capturing 18.90% market share. While slightly lower than last year’s 19.44% share, volumes increased significantly from 12,751 units, highlighting continued farmer trust in Swaraj’s rugged tractors and strong presence in northern farming markets.

International Tractors Limited (Sonalika)

International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) recorded 11,564 units in February 2026 with a 12.93% market share, improving slightly from 12.73% last year. Sales grew strongly from 8,351 units, reflecting rising demand for Sonalika tractors, known for competitive pricing and reliable farm performance.

Escorts Kubota Limited (Agri Machinery Group)

The Agri Machinery Group of Escorts Kubota Limited sold 10,125 units, capturing 11.32% market share. Compared to 6,582 units in February 2025, the brand recorded significant growth, driven by expanding product offerings and stronger acceptance of Powertrac and Farmtrac tractors among Indian farmers.

TAFE Limited

TAFE Limited registered 8,892 units in February 2026 with a 9.94% market share. Sales increased from 6,580 units last year, showing consistent farmer demand. TAFE continues to remain a key player with its strong legacy and reliable tractors across multiple agricultural applications.

John Deere India Pvt Ltd

John Deere India Pvt Ltd reported 6,673 units and secured 7.46% market share. Sales improved from 5,057 units last year, although share slightly declined. The brand continues to attract farmers seeking advanced technology, premium features, and high-performance tractors.

Eicher Tractors

Eicher Tractors recorded 5,546 units in February 2026, holding 6.20% market share. Compared to 4,092 units last year, the company achieved healthy growth while maintaining a stable share, supported by its value-for-money tractors popular among small and mid-sized farmers.

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd sold 4,158 units, achieving 4.65% market share in February 2026. This marks strong growth from 2,691 units last year, indicating increasing traction for its tractor brands across major farming regions in India.

Other Manufacturers

Other tractor manufacturers together sold 4,092 units, holding 4.58% market share in February 2026. Although volumes slightly increased compared to 3,956 units last year, their combined market share declined from 6.03%, reflecting increasing consolidation among leading tractor OEMs.
