The Republic Day 2024 celebrations in India are set to be graced by French President Emmanuel Macron, who has confirmed his attendance on January 26, 2024. Over 13,000 special guests from across India have been invited to witness the grand parade. The Defence Ministry has announced that "Anant Sutra - The Endless Thread", a display of nearly 1,900 sarees and drapes from every corner of the country, will be a highlight of the event.
French President Emmanuel Macron, the chief guest for Republic Day 2024, will be present not only for the Republic Day celebrations but also for the 25th anniversary of India-France Strategic Partnership. President Macron had previously visited India during the G-20 Summit from September 9 to 10, 2023, while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Guest of Honour at the Bastille Day Parade held on July 14, 2023, in Paris.
The chief guest for Republic Day parade in 2023 was Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
