As the Rabi season begins in Rajasthan, the state government has taken strong steps to ensure farmers do not face any fertilizer shortage. The Agriculture Department is actively monitoring the availability of urea, DAP, NPK, and SSP to ensure timely supply across all districts.

In view of the rising fertilizer demand during Rabi, the government has increased its focus on stock availability, district-wise distribution, and strict monitoring. According to Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal, the government is ensuring fertilizer supply with complete transparency and priority.
High-consumption districts and blocks are being identified, and fertilizer distribution is being accelerated there. Officials have been instructed to provide fertilizers strictly as per the recommended quantities and Soil Health Card guidelines.
The government is running special campaigns to stop illegal storage, diversion, and black marketing of fertilizers. So far:
30 FIRs have been registered for illegal storage and urea diversion.
7 in Sriganganagar
5 in Nagaur
4 in Alwar
2 each in Tonk, Pali, Dausa, Bharatpur
1 each in Kotputli, Sikar, Dungarpur, Jaisalmer, Karauli, Jalore
89 FIRs have been filed against vendors violating fertilizer distribution norms.
97 licenses have been suspended or cancelled.
Department officers have been posted at every vendor location to maintain order, especially when farmer crowds increase.
The Agriculture Minister confirmed that the state is in constant coordination with the central government to ensure smooth supply.
Out of the 11.34 lakh MT urea allocated for Rabi 2025 (October–December), the state has already received 10.50 lakh MT, which is 92.59% of the allocation. Additionally, 25,000 MT is in transit.
Around 3 lakh MT urea is expected to arrive in December, ensuring full availability.
Urea: 1,67,000 MT
DAP: 66,000 MT
NPK: 61,000 MT
SSP: 1,43,000 MT
The phosphatic fertilizer stock is 79,000 MT higher than last year, which is considered sufficient for current demand.
Fertilizers are allocated to Rajasthan by the central government every month. The state government then prepares district-wise distribution plans.
District magistrates have been instructed to:
Ensure distribution as per Soil Health Card recommendations
Act quickly against hoarding, black marketing, and illegal storage
Maintain fair and transparent distribution with no middlemen
All districts now have control rooms that monitor fertilizer distribution live.
61 checkpoints have been set up to stop illegal fertilizer movement from border districts.
The Agriculture Department and police teams are conducting regular inspections.
These measures help prevent urea diversion, hoarding, and black marketing.
The Agriculture Minister reaffirmed that farmers will not face any fertilizer shortages this Rabi season. The state is ensuring adequate supply as per crop requirements, and teams have been deployed to ensure transparency.
