The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is providing housing benefits to families living in rural areas who are homeless or residing in kutcha or semi-pucca houses. Under this scheme, financial assistance is also available for those who need to repair their damaged houses. The Rajasthan government is now allowing eligible individuals to register for the PMAY Plus scheme through an Android mobile app from the comfort of their homes. The last date for registration is March 31, so interested applicants should complete their registration soon.

The Rajasthan government has simplified the registration process under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. Now, eligible beneficiaries can register themselves through the mobile app without needing to visit any office. The initiative, jointly launched by the Central and State Government, aims to ensure a transparent and hassle-free application process.
According to Gaurav Budania, CEO of Sawai Madhopur Zila Parishad, many families have already received benefits under PMAY, but several eligible families are still waiting. The following groups will get priority under the scheme:
Homeless families
People living in rented homes for years
Families with kutcha houses
Destitute individuals, beggars, and manual scavengers
Tribal community members and legally freed bonded laborers
During the survey, officials will conduct geo-tagging to identify beneficiaries. They will collect Aadhaar card details, job card information, and bank account details of family members. The scheme mandates that the female member of the family will be the primary beneficiary. If there is no female member, another family member can be nominated.

Beneficiary families will receive financial aid of Rs 1,55,940, which includes:
Rs 1.20 lakh in three installments for house construction
Rs 23,940 as MNREGA wages for 90 days
Rs 12,000 for toilet construction
The registration process is open until March 31, 2025. Beneficiaries can register using their mobile phones. However, only one application per mobile phone is allowed. Gram Vikas Adhikari and Junior Sahayak officials can map multiple applications and survey applicants.
According to official data, 75,132 families in Rajasthan have registered under the scheme. Out of these, 61,619 beneficiaries used the mobile app, while 13,513 were surveyed by officials. Gram Panchayats must ensure that no eligible family is left out, and any omissions will lead to strict action against responsible officials.
Eligible beneficiaries who have not yet registered can add their names before the deadline to avail of the scheme’s benefits.
