The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) was launched in February 2019 to offer financial support to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs. 6,000 annually in three equal instalments of Rs. 2,000 each. The amount helps farmers meet expenses related to seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, and other agriculture-related needs.
More than 11 crore Indian farmers have benefited from the scheme so far.
According to the latest awareness campaign shared by @pmkisanofficial on X (formerly Twitter), many fake websites and messages are tricking farmers by providing incorrect payment updates and asking for personal information. Such frauds may result in financial loss and data misuse.
The government stresses that all updates will be shared only on the official website and verified social media channels. Any promise of instant payment, fake links, or early confirmation messages should be ignored.

The 19th instalment of PM-KISAN was released on February 24, 2025. Since then, many farmers have been hoping that the 20th instalment would be announced in June or July. Hopes were high when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Motihari, Bihar on July 18, where he launched development projects worth over Rs 7,100 crore, including major initiatives in railways, roads, and IT infrastructure.
However, no official update regarding the 20th instalment was announced during the event. As a result, beneficiaries are still waiting for a confirmed release date from the government.
Until the government officially announces the date of the 20th PM-KISAN instalment, farmers are advised to:
Complete their e-KYC process
Ensure Aadhaar is linked with their bank account
Regularly check their status on the official PM-KISAN website
Above all, stay alert and do not believe any unofficial message claiming to release payment updates or asking for sensitive information.
