Bringing major relief to paddy farmers, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred ₹37.12 crore as paddy bonus directly into the bank accounts of 6.69 lakh farmers across the state. The transfer was done with a single click by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav during a state-level program held at the Agricultural Produce Market Complex in Katangi, Balaghat district.
Under the Paddy Bonus Scheme 2025, farmers who sell their paddy at the MSP (Minimum Support Price) will receive a bonus of ₹4,000 per hectare. The bonus amount is capped at a maximum of ₹10,000 per farmer. This step is aimed at improving the financial conditions of farmers and encouraging them to sell paddy through official procurement channels.
More than one lakh farmers in Balaghat district alone have benefited from this initiative. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that increasing farmers' income is a top priority for the state government. He added that technology and transparency are being used to ensure that benefits reach farmers without delay.
The state government transferred the bonus directly through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. This eliminates middlemen and ensures that the amount reaches farmers bank accounts securely and quickly. Farmers who have sold their paddy at MSP have started receiving the credited amount.
Farmers can verify whether the bonus has been credited to their accounts through:
Bank SMS alerts
Their bank’s official website or app
Nearest CSC (Common Service Centre)
This ensures transparency and allows farmers to track payments easily.
At the same event, the Chief Minister also distributed appointment letters to 3,500 youth from the district, creating fresh employment opportunities. Additionally, development projects worth ₹244.52 crore were inaugurated, and groundbreaking ceremonies were performed.
Paddy prices are witnessing a significant surge in several agricultural markets of Madhya Pradesh, reaching up to ₹3,240 per quintal – the highest so far this season. Experts predict further price hikes in the coming days, which will help farmers earn more for their produce even before the government procurement officially begins.
The combination of direct bonus transfers, rising paddy prices, and new development projects has boosted both enthusiasm and confidence among farmers. This move is being viewed as a significant step toward agricultural reform and rural economic development in Madhya Pradesh.
