Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M) has announced a major reshuffle in its top leadership as part of its strategy to strengthen business growth and drive innovation. This change involves appointing new leaders to important roles across the company’s core sectors.
Hemant Sikka, who is currently the President of the Farm Equipment Sector (FES), has been appointed as the Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL). His new role will begin on May 4, 2025.
Sikka’s leadership has been key in driving the success of Mahindra’s farm equipment division. His move to Mahindra Logistics is expected to bring fresh direction and vision to the logistics business.
Veejay Nakra, the current President of the Automotive Division, will now take charge as the President of the Farm Equipment Business (FEB). Nakra has a strong background in product development, sales, and marketing. He has helped transform the automotive division with successful vehicle launches and improved production processes.
Now, he will lead one of Mahindra's most profitable businesses. The Farm Equipment Business records a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of over 60%, making it a key part of the company’s overall performance.
R Velusamy, currently the President of Automotive Technology and Product Development, has been promoted to President of the Automotive Business (AB). He will now oversee both the SUV and light commercial vehicle operations.
Velusamy, who has been with Mahindra since 1996, has contributed significantly to the company’s technology development, including work in internal combustion engines and electric vehicles. His new role aims to improve collaboration and speed within the automotive business.
Ram Swaminathan, the current CEO of Mahindra Logistics, has decided to step down to explore other professional opportunities. His exit has opened the way for Hemant Sikka’s appointment.
Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra, stated that the company is placing proven leaders in critical roles to ensure long-term success. He highlighted that strong leadership is essential for driving growth, innovation, and value across the group.
