India’s tractor retail market continued its steady growth momentum in March 2026, reflecting strong rural demand and increasing farm mechanisation across the country. According to Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) Research, total tractor retail sales reached 82,080 units in March 2026, compared to 74,032 units in March 2025, marking a healthy year-on-year increase.

Improved agricultural activity, better cash flow among farmers, and rising adoption of modern equipment have supported this growth trend in the tractor industry.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Performance - March 2026

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Tractor Division)

Mahindra & Mahindra’s tractor division retained its leadership position in March 2026 by selling 19,652 units, capturing a 23.94% market share. Compared to 17,593 units and 23.76% share in March 2025, the company recorded steady growth. Its strong rural network, wide product range, and trusted brand image continue to drive consistent demand across India.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited Swaraj Division

The Swaraj Division of Mahindra & Mahindra reported 16,007 units in March 2026, achieving a 19.50% market share, slightly higher than 19.39% last year. Sales increased from 14,355 units, reflecting strong demand, especially in northern and central agricultural markets where Swaraj tractors are widely preferred.

International Tractors Limited

International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) sold 10,194 units in March 2026, holding a 12.42% market share. While volumes improved from 9,266 units last year, its share slightly declined from 12.52%, indicating rising competition despite continued demand for its value-driven tractor offerings.

Escorts Kubota Limited

Escorts Kubota Limited’s Agri Machinery Group registered 8,926 units in March 2026, with its market share rising to 10.87% from 10.38% last year. The company showed strong growth from 7,688 units, supported by increasing acceptance of its Powertrac and Farmtrac brands among Indian farmers.

TAFE Limited

TAFE Limited recorded 8,489 units in March 2026 and improved its market share to 10.34%, up from 9.55% in March 2025. Sales increased from 7,067 units, showing stable growth backed by its strong legacy and reliable tractor portfolio.

John Deere India Pvt Ltd

John Deere India Pvt Ltd sold 6,460 units in March 2026, securing a 7.87% market share. While volumes rose from 5,910 units, its share slightly declined from 7.98%, as competition intensified in both premium and mid-range tractor segments.

Eicher Tractors

Eicher Tractors reported 4,661 units in March 2026, holding a 5.68% market share. Compared to 4,551 units and 6.15% share last year, the company saw marginal growth in volumes but a decline in share, reflecting faster growth by larger competitors.

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd recorded 3,931 units in March 2026, achieving a 4.79% market share, up from 4.09% last year. Sales improved significantly from 3,025 units, indicating growing traction and stronger presence in key agricultural markets.

Others (Smaller OEMs)

The “Others” category, which includes manufacturers with less than 1% individual market share, sold 3,760 units in March 2026, with a combined 4.58% market share. This is a decline from 6.18% share and 4,577 units last year, showing that smaller players are losing ground as larger OEMs continue to dominate the market.
