According to Dr. Subhash Chandra Doodi, Project Director and Deputy Director of Agriculture, the district has been allotted two interstate farmer training programs and one interstate farmer tour under the general category.
Each group will include 40 young farmers aged between 18 and 50 years, and the training duration will be up to seven days, including travel. During this period, farmers will not only gain classroom knowledge but also visit successful farms in other states to observe and learn from real-life agricultural practices.
The training will focus on advanced agriculture and modern technology. Farmers will be educated on:
High-tech horticulture (greenhouse and floriculture)
Dairy and animal husbandry
Fisheries and food processing
Organic farming and post-harvest management
Water use efficiency and cotton ginning
Farmers will also receive hands-on demonstrations and practical sessions from experts. The training topics may vary based on local needs and agricultural conditions.
The scheme is open to progressive farmers involved in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, or agro-processing.
Priority will be given to farmers who have received state or district-level awards and to women farmers.
Farmers who have already received similar training under any departmental scheme in the last three years will not be eligible.
