Let’s understand what Dhaincha is, its benefits, and how farmers can avail of this subsidy.
Dhaincha is a green manure crop from the legume family. It is usually sown before the main crop and ploughed into the soil before flowering. Dhaincha works as a natural fertilizer and improves the condition of the field.
Naturally provides nitrogen to the soil
Reduces the need for chemical fertilizers
Lowers overall cultivation costs
Improves soil structure and moisture retention
Increases the quality and yield of the next crop
Farmers can sow Dhaincha in vacant fields or before main crop cultivation to enhance soil health without spending much.
The Haryana government has announced a subsidy of Rs 1,000 per acre for Dhaincha cultivation. This amount will be provided directly to the farmer’s bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
According to Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, this scheme is being implemented for the first time across the entire state. The main goal is to reduce the farmer’s dependence on chemical fertilizers and promote sustainable farming.
To receive the subsidy, farmers must follow these steps:
Register on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal
Upload a photo of the Dhaincha crop in their field on time
Uploading the photo is mandatory. Without this step, the farmer will not receive the subsidy.
The government has set a target of covering 4 lakh acres of land across 22 districts of Haryana. More than 3 lakh farmers are expected to benefit directly from this scheme.
This scheme aims to:
Promote organic farming practices
Make farmers self-reliant by improving their soil quality naturally
Ensure transparency by connecting farmers to digital platforms
Help Haryana become a leading agricultural state once again
