India’s tractor retail market started 2026 on a strong note. According to FADA Research, total tractor retail sales reached 1,14,759 units in January 2026, compared to 93,386 units in January 2025. This reflects healthy year-on-year growth driven by strong rural demand and continued farm mechanisation.
The latest market share data shows clear leadership by the Mahindra Group, while other leading OEMs like Escorts Kubota, TAFE, International Tractors, and John Deere also maintained solid positions.

The Indian tractor industry witnessed strong retail momentum in January 2026. Higher agricultural activity, improved cash flow in rural markets, and farmer investment in mechanisation supported this growth.
The market remained largely consolidated, with top OEMs accounting for the majority of total volumes.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Tractor Division)
Mahindra’s tractor division retained the top position with 26,006 units sold in January 2026. The company held a 22.66% market share. While its share slightly declined compared to last year, the brand continued to lead in absolute volumes due to strong rural reach and wide product offerings.
Swaraj recorded 21,920 units in January 2026, capturing 19.10% market share. The division improved both volumes and share compared to January 2025, reflecting steady demand for its durable and farmer-friendly tractors.
International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) sold 15,379 units, achieving a 13.40% market share. The company maintained stable performance and slightly improved its share amid increasing competition.
TAFE registered 13,459 units in January 2026 with an 11.73% market share. The brand showed steady growth in volumes compared to the previous year, supported by consistent farmer demand.
Escorts Kubota sold 12,313 units, securing 10.73% market share. The company improved its share compared to January 2025, showing stronger acceptance of its tractor range across markets.
John Deere reported 8,082 units in January 2026 and held a 7.04% market share. The brand continued to maintain a strong presence, especially among farmers looking for premium and feature-rich tractors.
Eicher recorded 7,815 units, with a 6.81% market share. The company showed improvement in both volume and share compared to last year.
CNH Industrial sold 5,387 units in January 2026 and achieved a 4.69% market share, reflecting steady growth in key agricultural regions.
Other OEMs together accounted for 4,398 units, holding 3.83% market share. Their combined share declined compared to January 2025, indicating further consolidation among leading tractor brands.
The January 2026 tractor retail data clearly reflects strong growth momentum. The Mahindra Group continued to dominate through both its Mahindra and Swaraj divisions. Brands like Escorts Kubota, TAFE, and International Tractors strengthened their positions, while smaller OEMs faced pressure. The numbers highlight rising farmer confidence, steady rural demand, and increasing mechanisation across India.
