While overall sales saw a minor increase, the domestic tractor market witnessed a decline of 2%. The company sold 9,703 tractors within India in May 2025, down from 9,906 units sold in the same month last year. This indicates a temporary slowdown in the domestic farming equipment market.
In contrast to domestic sales, export sales grew significantly. Escorts Kubota exported 651 tractors in May 2025, a sharp rise from 380 units in May 2024. This reflects an impressive 71.3% increase, indicating rising global demand for Escorts Kubota tractors.
Escorts Kubota stated that the timely arrival of the monsoon has brought optimism in rural areas. Farmers are now preparing for the upcoming Kharif crop season, and the company expects this momentum to continue in the coming months.
The company remains hopeful due to several positive indicators:
Forecast of above-normal monsoon this year
Adequate water levels in reservoirs
Better liquidity in rural markets
These factors are expected to support future tractor sales and demand growth in the agricultural sector.
