Escorts Kubota Limited has strengthened its tractor portfolio in India with the launch of the Kubota MU4201 in the 41-44 HP category and key upgrades to the MU4501 and MU5502 models. These updates mark the company’s entry into a crucial horsepower segment, which accounts for nearly 60–64% of India’s domestic tractor market.

Designed by Japanese engineers and manufactured for Indian conditions, the MU4201 introduces premium features previously available only in Kubota’s higher 45–55 HP range. These include a flat deck, suspended pedals, balancer shaft, synchromesh transmission, and dual clutch.
The MU4201 is highly versatile, catering to diverse agricultural applications such as ploughing, tilling, and haulage, while offering smooth compatibility with implements like rotavators and disc harrows. The model is also positioned for farmers looking to upgrade from 35 HP tractors, ensuring better productivity and operational ease.
Escorts Kubota has introduced advanced Japanese ‘Pompa Lift’ hydraulic technology in the upgraded MU4501 and MU5502 models. These tractors now feature an improved lifting capacity of 1640–2100 kg and an industry-best lift height of 455 mm. With these upgrades, the models are better suited for handling heavy-duty implements such as seed drills and large rotavators.

The MU4201 and upgraded models strengthen our offerings in the 41–50 HP segment.”
Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, highlighted the market significance: “The 41–50 HP segment accounts for almost two-thirds of India’s tractor demand. The MU4201 is designed for farmers seeking premium technology and versatility for multiple applications, including haulage.”
Adding to this, G S Grewal, Chief Operating Officer, Tractor Business Division, said: “The MU4201 is strategically targeted at farmers upgrading from 35 HP tractors. We plan to strengthen our market presence further in key states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana.”
