India’s domestic tractor industry recorded strong wholesale growth in December 2025, with total sales rising to 69,890 units. This is a 37.08% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to 50,986 units sold in December 2024. The growth was supported by healthy rural demand, better farming conditions, and continued government support for agriculture and farmers.

Mahindra & Mahindra remained the clear market leader in December 2025. The group sold 30,210 tractors, up from 22,019 units last year, recording a 37.20% growth. Its market share increased slightly to 43.23%, compared to 43.19% in December 2024, showing a YoY gain of 0.04%.
TAFE Group, including the Massey Ferguson and Eicher brands, sold 11,033 units in December 2025, compared to 8,249 units in December 2024. This translated into a 33.75% growth. However, its market share declined to 15.79% from 16.18%, reflecting a YoY drop of 0.39%.
Sonalika reported sales of 9,378 tractors, up from 7,632 units last year, posting a 22.88% growth. Despite volume growth, the brand’s market share slipped to 13.42% from 14.97%, resulting in a YoY decline of 1.55%.
Escorts Kubota, which includes Farmtrac and Powertrac, sold 6,828 units in December 2025 versus 5,016 units a year ago. This marked a 36.12% growth. Its market share stood at 9.77%, slightly lower than 9.84% in December 2024, with a YoY decline of 0.07%.
John Deere delivered one of the strongest performances in the market. The company sold 8,788 tractors in December 2025, compared to 5,192 units last year, registering a sharp 69.26% growth. Its market share jumped to 12.57% from 10.18%, gaining 2.39% YoY, the highest market share increase among major players.
New Holland sold 2,015 tractors in December 2025, up from 1,567 units in December 2024. This reflects a 28.59% growth. Its market share declined slightly to 2.88% from 3.07%, showing a YoY drop of 0.19%.
VST reported sales of 374 units, compared to 235 units last year, recording a strong 59.15% growth. Its market share improved to 0.54% from 0.46%, resulting in a YoY gain of 0.07%.
Indo Farm sold 334 tractors in December 2025, up from 294 units in December 2024, posting a 13.61% growth. However, its market share declined to 0.48% from 0.58%, marking a YoY drop of 0.10%.
SDF recorded sales of 49 units in December 2025, compared to 42 units last year, showing a 16.67% growth. Its market share stood at 0.07%, slightly lower than 0.08% in December 2024, with a YoY decline of 0.01%.
Captain Tractors sold 282 units in December 2025, up from 192 units last year. This resulted in a 46.88% growth. Its market share improved to 0.40% from 0.38%, gaining 0.03% YoY.
Preet sold 411 tractors in December 2025, compared to 318 units in December 2024, recording a 29.25% growth. Its market share declined slightly to 0.59% from 0.62%, reflecting a YoY drop of 0.04%.
ACE was the only manufacturer to report a decline in December 2025. Sales fell to 188 units from 230 units last year, showing a negative growth of 18.26%. Its market share dropped to 0.27% from 0.45%, resulting in a YoY decline of 0.18%.
The Indian domestic tractor market ended December 2025 on a strong note, with 37% YoY growth and healthy sales across most brands. John Deere, Mahindra & Mahindra, VST, and Captain Tractors emerged as key gainers in market share, while some manufacturers faced minor market share pressure despite higher volumes. Overall, the data reflects positive momentum in rural demand and farm mechanisation heading into 2026.
