The Madhya Pradesh government has announced major relief for farmers affected by excessive rain, floods, and hailstorms. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has released Rs 20 crore 60 lakh through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for 17,500 farmers across 11 districts of the state.

Excessive Rainfall Caused Heavy Crop Loss

According to the Revenue Commissioner’s data, Madhya Pradesh received an average of 1031.2 mm of rainfall this monsoon season, which is 25% higher than normal. Due to this, crops in several districts were badly damaged.

Relief Distribution in the State

So far, the Madhya Pradesh government has distributed Rs 188.52 crore in different forms of relief during 2025-26 to cover natural disaster losses. Earlier in August, CM Dr. Yadav had provided over Rs 30 crore to 24,884 affected families in the state.

CM’s Assurance to Farmers

While releasing the compensation, CM Dr. Yadav interacted with farmers virtually. He assured them that no farmer will be left without help.

He said, “The prosperity of farmers is the strength of our government. We will continue to support them by giving proper compensation for crop loss so they can restart farming with confidence.”

How to Check Compensation in Your Account

The compensation has been transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts through DBT. Farmers can check whether the amount has been received in the following ways:

Steps to Check on the MP Kisan Portal

  1. Open https://mpkisan.gov.in on your mobile or computer.

  2. Click on “Applicant Status” or “Farmer Registration Status.”

  3. Enter your Registration Number, Samagra ID, or Aadhaar Number.

  4. Click on “Search” or “View Status.”

  5. Your application and compensation status will appear on the screen.

Where to Contact if the Amount Has Not Arrived

If the compensation does not reflect in your account within 1–2 days, farmers can contact their village secretary, patwari, or the district agriculture officer for assistance.

Additional Support Under Crop Insurance

Apart from compensation, the Madhya Pradesh government is also providing relief under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Insurance companies provide payments based on crop loss surveys. In 2024-25, lakhs of farmers applied under this scheme. Last year, about 50 lakh farmers received Rs 8,000 crore as insurance claims.

Relief Amount So Far in Madhya Pradesh

As per the Revenue Department, a total of Rs 188.52 crore has been distributed to farmers in 2025-26 for natural disaster losses. The aim is to restore livelihoods and help farmers prepare for the next crop cycle.
