The Bihar government launches the Agriculture Input Grant Scheme 2025 to help farmers with crop loss due to floods, offering up to ₹22,500 per hectare as compensation.

Key Highlights:

There is good news for farmers affected by excessive rains and floods in Bihar. The state government has launched the Agriculture Input Grant Scheme Sharadiya (Kharif) 2025 to provide financial help to farmers whose crops were damaged in August 2025. Under this scheme, eligible farmers will get compensation of up to ₹22,500 per hectare.

The scheme covers farmers from 577 panchayats of 64 blocks across 14 districts. Its main aim is to compensate crop loss, support farmers financially, and ensure that farming continues without disruption.

Compensation Based on Land Type and Crops

Farmers will get compensation according to the type of land and crops damaged:

A farmer can claim compensation for a maximum of 2 hectares of land. Minimum compensation has also been fixed at ₹1,000 for non-irrigated land, ₹2,000 for irrigated land, and ₹2,500 for perennial crops.

Who Can Apply for Compensation?

Both rayat (landholders) and non-rayat (landless) farmers can apply. The key conditions are:

Districts Covered Under the Scheme

Farmers from selected panchayats of the following 14 districts can apply for compensation:

Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Katihar, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Patna, Bhojpur, Vaishali, Munger, Saran, Samastipur, Madhepura, and Sheikhpura.

Only those farmers whose crops have suffered more than 33% damage will be eligible for benefits.
