The Madhya Pradesh government has once again taken a major step in supporting its farmers. Under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana, more than 85 lakh farmers have received the first installment for the financial year 2025-26, with a total of ₹1704.94 crore directly transferred to their bank accounts.
This state-run scheme benefits those who are already enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Farmers receive ₹6,000 annually from the Centre and an additional ₹6,000 from the Madhya Pradesh government under this scheme. This means farmers in Madhya Pradesh are receiving a total of ₹12,000 every year, provided in three installments. So far, 12 installments have been distributed under the Kisan Kalyan Yojana.
Along with releasing the installment, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav made several big announcements during his program in Dhar district:
Bhoomi Pujan of Dhar Micro Lift Irrigation Project
Cost: ₹870 crore
Beneficiaries: Over 1.03 lakh farmers in Umarban region
This will boost irrigation in the region and help expand cultivation.
Inauguration of other development projects worth ₹277 crore
These projects aim to strengthen infrastructure and services in the district.
Target to increase irrigation capacity in the state
Current irrigated land: 55 lakh hectares
New target: 1 crore hectares
Projects like the Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Chambal-Kalisindh river link schemes are underway to achieve this goal.
Dhar district has also received the PM Mitra Textile Park, a central government initiative with an investment of ₹2100 crore. The park is expected to:
Create about 3 lakh new jobs
Boost industrial growth in the region
Help farmers earn more if they adopt cotton farming, which will be directly linked to this textile industry
