Good news for farmers! The Chhattisgarh government will start paddy procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) from November 15, 2025, which will continue till January 31, 2026. This initiative aims to ensure farmers get fair prices for their produce under the Kharif marketing year 2025–26.
The announcement was made under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with the launch of the Support-Price Paddy Procurement Policy. The government is also offering farmers an additional bonus this year, ensuring extra financial support for their hard work.
According to Food Department Secretary Reena Kangale, the government will purchase paddy at a rate of ₹3,100 per quintal. Each farmer can sell a maximum of 21 quintals per acre, similar to last year’s limit.
The entire procurement process will be managed by the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Federation (MARKFED). A total of 2,739 procurement centers will operate across all districts, including 55 mandis and 78 sub-mandis.
These centers will ensure farmers can easily sell their paddy in their local areas. Newly approved centers have also been added to improve convenience and reduce crowding during the procurement period.
To sell paddy, farmers need to register with their nearest committee through the AgriStake portal or the Unified Farmer Registration Portal using their Farmer ID.
MARKFED will establish a credit limit under government guidance to ensure timely payments to farmers. The entire procurement system will be computerized to maintain transparency and efficiency.
As per government rules, in the farmer’s absence, only parents, spouse, or children can sell paddy. In special cases, a “trusted person” certified by the SDM can be authorized to sell on behalf of the farmer.
To maintain order and avoid rush, a token system will be followed.
Marginal and small farmers will receive two tokens,
Large farmers will receive three tokens.
No new slips will be issued on the last day, and paddy received till 5 p.m. will be considered for procurement on that day. Procurement will be done using new and old jute bags in a 50:50 ratio.
To ensure quality, the moisture content of paddy must not exceed 17%. Legal verification of weight and distribution will be mandatory at all centers, and verification certificates will be displayed publicly.
Each center will have polyethylene covers, cement blocks, and proper drainage facilities to protect the paddy, even during rainfall.
Farmers payments will be credited directly to their bank accounts through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS). No payment will be made to any account other than the registered farmer’s account.
All procurement centers will be equipped with computers, printers, UPS systems, and network facilities. Before the start of procurement, a complete inspection of all centers will be done by October 31.
To ensure smooth operations, a call center will be set up for complaints. Farmers can contact the helpline number 1800-233-3663 for any issues.
Each district will have an in-charge secretary to monitor and inspect procurement activities. Complaints received through the helpline will be resolved within three days. Control rooms will also be established at both state and district levels to oversee the process.
